ENS 186 visa English Requirements
There are exemptions for proving your English lanugage skills if you hold a passport issued by the UK, Ireland, Canada, New Zealand or the United States, you do not have to provide English language test results.
Otherwise, for other passport holders applying for a 186 visa, the English language level needed for the ENS 186 Visa is ‘competent’ or equivalent to an IELTS score of 6.

Your English language results are submitted with your 186 visa application. The results, however, must not be older than 3 years old at the time you submit your visa application.
Only the primary applicant needs to pass the English language requirements.
